The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, in collaboration with the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, this town has been the exhibition 'Brushstrokes the past', composed of 13 religious-themed works of Baroque masters as Murillo, Zurbarán and Valdés Leal.
The show can be seen until March 13 in the church of the former Jesuit, within the City program activities to mark the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa of Jesus.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas, today visited the exhibition accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, María de la Cruz Perez.
"This is a sample of works from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia and the collection of the Foundation Board Santa Isabel de Villanueva del Segura River which opened in 2011 in the Mubam and since then it has been seen in different municipalities. The celebration of the Teresian year now gives us the possibility of carrying Caravaca for citizens of the region can continue to enjoy its rich pictorial and artistic heritage, "said Maria Comas.
Within the sample stand out for their quality and as representatives of the Spanish Baroque, works in the background Mubam as the 'Ecce Homo', Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, 'The Saints Juanes' by Juan Valdés Leal or' Allegory Eucharistic 'Workshop Zurbarán.
In addition, there are other significant works within the Spanish Baroque naturalism as tables and San Pedro Crucified Christ, contemporaneous copies of originals by Murillo, or El Niño Jesus as Savior Mundi ', located within the sphere Murillesque, paintings that reflect the quality of the Andalusian school and, especially, of the Sevillian school of the seventeenth century.
