Caravaca de la Cruz adds another year to the initiative "Earth Hour", a global campaign that promotes the WWF with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of saving energy and combating climate change.
From the Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz reported that tomorrow, Saturday February 28, from 20.30 to 21.30, lighting the most emblematic of the city, the Castle and the Royal Basilica turns off Vera Cruz and couch area and dedicated to the Horses of Wine and Pilgrim, as a gesture of support for this campaign that involves people, institutions and companies around the world monuments.
"Earth Hour" last year mobilized more than 7,000 cities in 162 countries.
In Spain thousands of entities and citizens turned out the lights offices and homes, and 250 municipalities left without light its most emblematic buildings.
This year the campaign has been launched worldwide with the slogan "Use your power to change climate change".
