The handwritten and signed letter of St. Teresa of Jesus, part of the documentation of the Municipal Archives of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, remains exposed in the chapel of Santa Teresa Convent of the Carmelite Fathers.
The document, dated 1575, is displayed in a glass case next to a panel that can one see an enlarged reproduction and another with translation and information material Teresian Year and "Traces of Teresa" route.
This initiative materialized yesterday after signing the document repo signed by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the prior of the Discalced Carmelites in Caravaca, Pascual Gil, where commitments are set to preserve and safeguard the letter and make a correct exposure thereof to the date of the closing of the Year Teresian.
Exposure of this historic document is part of the activities promoted by the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, in collaboration with the Carmelite community, within the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa of Jesus and the launch of the cultural tourist route "Footprints Teresa ".
The Carmelite church of the convent of the Carmelite Fathers was declared by the diocese temple during this Jubilee Year Teresian.
Alongside the handwritten letter, also exposes a carving of Santa Teresa and relic worship Carmelite fathers.
The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10.30 am to 14.00 pm and on Saturdays from 1.30 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00.
