The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, José Ignacio Wert, presided over today in Cartagena plenary meeting of the Sectoral Conference on Culture, the organ of cooperation between the central government and the autonomous communities in culture at the highest political level .
The meeting was also attended by the President of the Region of Murcia, Alberto Garre.
2015 and 2016: centenarians around Miguel de Cervantes
If the fourth centenary of the Second Part of Don Quixote is commemorated in 2015, 2016 will be the year in which the four centuries of the death of Miguel de Cervantes are held.
For this last remembrance, in the plenary of the meeting was advanced that soon a National Commission will be created, in order to program, promote and coordinate the various activities carried out by private government, public entities and thus and by individuals.
Notably, the Law on State Budget for 2015 states that this commemoration is an "event of exceptional public interest", which provides a broad tax incentives of up to 90% - entities wishing to contribute both in carrying activities and the dissemination of those scheduled.
José Ignacio Wert reported cultural activities from the Ministry of Education will be organized for both the fourth centenary of the Second Part of Don Quixote to the fourth centenary of the death of Cervantes.
Of the nearly twenty activities include the "Miguel de Cervantes: from reality to myth" exhibition can be seen in the first half of 2016 at the National Library of Spain;

Museums + Social Plan
In the Sector Conference, has also informed Museums + Social Plan (http://www.mecd.gob.es/museosmassociales), an initiative to promote a model of open and participatory museum bringing them to different audience segments that still not see them as attractive and accessible.
These groups include the elderly, people with disabilities, people with difficulty visit (especially those in nursing homes, hospitals and prisons).
The Plan is initially applied in the 22 dependent museums of the Ministry of Culture, although it is open to other museum institutions.
The National Museum of Underwater Archaeology ARQUA (Cartagena) has just inaugurated adapt part of its permanent exhibition with tactile elements, macro panel brackets in Braille characters and develops programs for different groups with intellectual disabilities.
