In the framework of the promoted and financed by Ecoembes to improve recycling of household packaging, a group of "ecoinfomadores" is performing over a thousand direct to homes in the neighborhood of Extremadura visits campaign, where this experience develops pilot for about one month .
According to data provided by the company responsible for waste collection, during the first week of the launch of the campaign has tripled the amount of paper and cardboard and doubled the number of plastic containers deposited in containers.
The amount of improper or containers that are thrown into the recycling bin wrong has gone from 40% to 10%.
Councillors for Urban Development and Environment, Salvador Gomez and Antonia Maria Alvarez Jorquera, respectively, recalled yesterday that is a pilot campaign held for about a month and after this time will continue the traditional system of organic waste containers door to door and recycling centers will remain with recycling bins.
"This campaign has been implemented with the intention to show the neighbors that their role is key in recycling containers and building a sustainable future and provide data for improvement here," said Councilwoman Environment.
Were placed in 800-liter containers recycling centers spread over a total of 12 islands, equipped with packaging containers, paper and organic, located a maximum of 50 meters of housing.
The 'ecoinformadores' participating in this campaign are making direct visits to homes explaining the project objectives, the restructuring of recycling points and correct habits for it.
The visits are supported by the delivery of a yellow bag to facilitate separation plastic containers, cans and cartons and transport to its corresponding container.
Ecoembes, the national organization that cares for the environment through recycling and eco-design of household packaging, has allocated 30,000 euros to the various actions of the campaign that develops in Caravaca de la Cruz and include various measures of awareness as buzoneo in housing and promotion on billboards, street furniture and media.
The campaign also involves the students in all schools in the municipality, with the delivery of educational material and a competition.
