The year 1994 marked a before and an after, as there was a restructuring of the health system with separation of the health authority and the provision of services, reserving the first to the Ministry of Health and Social Policy and the second at Murciano Service Health as the entity responsible for the management and delivery of healthcare and public health services integrated.
The incorporation of health planning to everyday services practice is mirrored in the Health Plan as an expression of health policy to be developed by the government of our region, and this will mean, certainly the possibility of achieving higher levels of health for the citizens of our region.
From the organizational point of view, the Health Administration is divided into areas and basic health zones.
This organization in areas and basic health zones will allow the challenges of effectiveness and efficiency that has raised the public health system, guiding all the way to the user of the public system, which is complemented by the free choice of doctor and center for service the users, which will be reflected in the continuous improvement of the quality of services.
Without a doubt the objective sought is the customer service by improving accessibility, preserving equity, increasing information to citizens, improving treatment through personalized attention and strengthening the mechanisms for getting feedback from users.
The health care provided in Caravaca de la Cruz and districts is part of the Health Area IV.
Management Area IV, which integrates the Northwest Regional Hospital, Health Center of Caravaca de la Cruz, the Center for Mental Health, the Health Center Barranda and offices, among other centers, has a mission to ensure the health, individual and collective attention;
maintaining and increasing where appropriate, the level of health of the population, increasing effectiveness through a comprehensive approach to process health (prevention, promotion, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and social reintegration) managing resources efficiently and integrating available manner coherent teaching, training, research and innovation.
We also intend to achieve excellence in the services offered to the population and respond effectively to the needs and expectations of our internal and external customers, seeking active participation in decision-making, which make us a frame of reference and where any professional would want to work and develop.
Gradually, year after year, the portfolio of services has increased both with twenty specialized care in primary care specialties as thirty-six different benefits, but not enough and we need to keep growing, to keep adding features to our users, in a responsible manner.
We want a Health to our town and districts to increase their demand for our services to users and so we will continue asking the Health Service of Murcia older and better resources, both human and material, increasing hospital beds, increasing the range of services (not in a disorderly manner but by demands of our users), and building new facilities like the knife fifth and Critical Care Unit to improve healthcare and quality of services, but without forgetting that we must continue to maintain the quality and same benefits with the economic effort that entails, in the Northwest Regional Hospital, in the six health centers in thirteen offices in both Emergency Services Primary Care in the three continuing care points and the three Points of Special insulation as well as continue to maintain an organic template 721 workers and serving a population of 69 251 inhabitants.
This is the health we want for Caravaca and their hamlets.
