Caravaca de la Cruz joins the celebration of International Museum Day.
This Sunday, May 17, will be open throughout the museum network of the town for free.
From 10.00 to 14.00 open days were held Festival Museum, Archaeological Museum of "La Soledad", the Ethnographic Museum in Miniature Angel Reinón, Joseph Carrilero Museum, the Museum of Wine and Horses Museum Ethnic Music of Barranda.
The church of San José del former Carmelite convent, located on Main Street, also will be open at the same time.
In addition, at 12.30, it will be held free of charge a tour of the former Carmelite convent.
Cities around the world celebrate since 1977 the International Museum Day.
The International Council of Museums each year choose a subject for this commemoration, which aims to share the concerns of the museum community and society.
The theme chosen for this year is "Museums for a sustainable society" and, as highlighted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, the aim is to raise public awareness about the role that museums play in the development of society and social function as guardians of collective memory.
