The Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda held a concert on the occasion of the upcoming feast of San Juan, which marks the beginning of the summer solstice.
For the night next Saturday, June 20, the square next to the museum will host a concert by the Band "Company" Caravaca de la Cruz and then will be the traditional "Salto del Fuego" , accompanied by the sound of percussion batucada.
The start of the activity is scheduled for 22.00.
Night of San Juan is a celebration of ancient origin, linked to the arrival of the summer solstice, celebrated in many European and especially of Spain and Portugal.
The Museum of Ethnic Music
The Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda, where you can admire the collection of instruments in the world of Carlos Blanco Fadol, registered a total of 5,904 entries during the first five months of 2015.
This museum space is included in the Network of Museums of the Region of Murcia.
Inside, visitors can see a varied sample of the musical culture of 145 countries.
The museum houses many of the instruments Fadol White, musicologist who for years has come countries from all continents, contacting ethnic groups that still conserve the dwindling instrumentostradicionales and music, stories and legends dating back from the third century BC to the twentieth century.
The instruments noted for their exoticism, authenticity and spectacular, presenting disparate sizes as small stalk of barley clarinet Belarus, to the huge Chinese drum, reaching almost 4 meters high.
Most of museum collection funds are not used in their home, being displaced by new musical trends or reducidosa small groups of musicians.
