The foundation caravaqueña Alfami been granted since its inception in the academic year 1988 and 1989, a total of 1,922 scholarships to students from the municipality, for a total amount of 627 470 euros, as informed the board members at the meeting held in the City of Caravaca de la Cruz with the mayor, José Moreno, and the mayor of Education, Esther Poveda.
According to the statutes and the will expressed by Alfonso Lopez Alvarez in his will, the foundation Alfami shall be governed by the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, who will act as chairman, two directors of schools in the municipality, one representative of the family the testator and the pastor of El Salvador, to ensure that students with outstanding academic records receive grants scholarships to facilitate the completion of their studies.
Scholarships each year are granted taking into account proposals made by the directors of the schools themselves, based on the transcript, the economic situation and the existence of more brothers, so that this financial support will benefit all the family.
Recipients of these grants are students of primary, secondary, Bachilleraro, Vocational Training and University Studies.
