The mayors of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Bullas, Calasparra and Mula and the regional deputy Jesus Navarro have held a meeting in the Consistory caravaqueño to address various issues of concern related to the Northwest Region and Rio Mula.
Among the issues that have been put on the table include the need to carry out the construction of the Northern Highway, linking Caravaca Jumilla to connect with the Levant by the highway Fuente La Higuera-Jumilla and the peninsular center through the A-30.
"It's a high demand and infrastructure, as currently the roads in this area have a precarious state, with serious security deficiencies," he pointed deputy Jesus Navarro.
Also, it has addressed the proposal to urge the Government of the Autonomous Community to exclude the costs of construction, operation and maintenance of Northwest Highway in territorialized spending projects in the municipalities of Caravaca, Cehegín, Bullas and Mula.
This initiative has already been approved at the first regular municipal council of Caravaca de la Cruz and now the motion is presented and discussed in the rest of municipalities that involves the formula "shadow tolls" and Regional Assembly.
The mayors represented at the meeting have agreed in pointing out that this is a discriminatory situation, which helps to increase the historical inequalities between the Northwest Region and the rest of the region.
Regarding the latter point, the caravaqueño mayor, Jose Moreno, stated that "the benefits are undeniable Northwest Highway have led to economic and social development, but it is necessary to suppress this form of financing and demand new infrastructure, as continuing to the Industrial Estate Cavilla and creating a second access road to the city. "
"Mayors Northwest will be united in defending these and other matters of interest to our neighbors in both the newly created Council of Mayors and the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces of the Region of Murcia," stated Moreno Medina.
