The Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through the Public Library, starts with the beginning of the academic year a new program for animation and promotion of reading, aimed both at children as adult .
One of the activities that reach more involved are workshops for children.
This course will be two "workshop Storytelling and Animation Reader", aimed at children between 4 and 6 years, and the "Workshop of Creative Writing and Animation Reader", for children aged between 7 and 9 years.
Both activities have a duration quarterly, weekly sessions, forming several groups to cover the largest possible number of enrollments and ensure participation and personal attention of students.
Registration will be formalized at the counter of the Library until 20 September.
The enrollment fee is 6 euros.
The purpose of these workshops is to familiarize, in a fun and participatory way, to children with characters, plots and values ​​contained in the literature.
They will start on September 22 and last until December 22.
Moreover, the Municipal Library continues the "Book Club", aimed at readers of age.
The club meets fortnightly its members to discuss books previously delivered for reading at home.
The registration period is open until 15 September and tuition is free.
The first collective readings will be "Mobile lightning", the writer and university professor Murcia Pedro García Montalvo, and "buried Hearts" by writer and screenwriter Francisco Rabadan Aroca.
As every year, the library staff will welcome students to let them know the facilities and encourage them to visit them outside school hours.
Schools that are interested in participating in these guided visits to the Library must communicate through email biblioteca@caravacadelacruz.es.
The aforementioned activities will be complemented throughout the year with other initiatives such as the so-called "Encounters with author", the Book Fair or youth literary contest "Albacara" among others.
