The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, and the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Jose Moreno, today held a working meeting where the plans for the development of the municipality were analyzed.

In this regard, Francisco Barnabas said his department and the City Council are working on the project for upgrading and management of public space in the block 55 'Europan''s Old Town, which is the transformation of the interior space of the block to the creation of a public space landscaped parking area.
With such actions, he stressed, "the regional government will enhance everything that has to do with Caravaca, his sanctuary, his castle, the Vera Cruz and the Jubilee Year, among many other potentials of this town, and that Caravaca Cross must be one of the major strategic areas of cultural and religious tourism of the Region of Murcia ".
The Minister also noted that the possibility of conditioning the public space in the town of Caravaca to implement a bus halts to facilitate the arrival of tourists and pilgrims in the area near the PA will be evaluated.
At this meeting, the Minister invited the mayor of Caravaca, accompanied by the Town Planning, Enrique Fuentes, his council as soon as possible present a project to the declaration of an area of ​​the town as Area Regeneration and Urban Renewal (ARRU ), for the financing of actions in order to facilitate the rehabilitation of buildings and real estate.
The counselor explained that the ARRU is funded under the State Plan of Development of rental housing, Rehabilitation in Buildings and Urban Regeneration and Renewal 2013-2016, and its purpose is to improve residential tissues and functionally recover historic areas, urban centers, degraded neighborhoods and rural villages.
