The bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Bishop Juan Antonio Reig Pla, president tomorrow, Saturday, at 19.00 the Solemn Blessing of the Church of Santa Barbara Archivel to mark the completion of the restoration work.
During the past two years have been numerous activities carried out inside and outside of the temple through a project funded by the City of Caravaca collaboration with businesses and residents of the hamlet.
Some of the actions taken were the installation of a window in the main facade, painting frescoes in the central dome and the presbytery, the plaster walls and the placement of new tiles.
It has also placed a new altar and dressing room to the patron and a baptismal font.
The project, financed 70% by the City of Caravaca, has enjoyed the support of local entrepreneurs as the stonemason Juan López Gallego, Carlos Perez, Alumicarlos, and Manolo Sanchez, Golden Sky, in addition to many residents who have contributed Parish by making donations of economic and material necessary for the work.
