Over a thousand people gathered last night in the courtyard of the Museum of Ethnic Music to witness the performance of Jorge Drexler with which opened the summer concert series "A Barranda moon."
Uruguayan singer-songwriter, who interacted at all times with the public seeking their cooperation to interpret the songs, gave an impromptu repertoire based on requests from people.
During the approximate two-hour concert sounded some of his most popular songs and versions of famous composers such as Kiko Veneno accompanied by the sound of the guitar and samplers.
One of the most special moments of the concert came when Jorge Drexler joined his song "Desire" Gambela rhythms, instruments from Indonesia and owned by Carlos Blanco Fadol collection exhibited at the Museum of Ethnic Music.
Before the show Drexler toured the museum accompanied by the director himself and had the opportunity to record the sounds of some instruments that are exposed there to incorporate into his compositions.
At the start of the show, the singer Barranda congratulated for the quality of the museum and said "many cities would like to have an exhibition like the one that houses the Museum of Ethnic Music."
