The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways has awarded the refurbishment of the C-330, which goes to the cemetery Cavila Sale in Caravaca de la Cruz, and will be completed before the end of the year.
This improvement will allow more than 10,000 drivers who use the road every day moving with greater safety and comfort.
In addition, this action will improve communications in the stretch that links the North West region with the city of Lorca facing the Jubilee Year, which will hold Caravaca de la Cruz in 2010 and will bring to the town thousands of pilgrims from different countries.
The layout of the C-330 will also ensure the safety of transportation professionals that use this road which has a high Average Daily Traffic (ADT) for heavy vehicles.
In this sense, the general director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, said that "improving the firm will be significantly reduced accidents in an area with heavy traffic influx."
Project Description
The work will consist of a reworking of the pavement on which runs a layer of concrete that will improve drainage, polish sunken areas, and extend successive layers of gravel and tar to stabilize the sinking of the firm.
A total of 2,000 tons of asphalt spread and placed 480 meters safety barriers, and change the horizontal and vertical signs with the aim of renewing the marking and security posts that are damaged by the passage of time.
With these actions, which will be developed in the section between mile markers 67 and 68, as well as improve road safety, it will get back the original flow of traffic and improve communications in the town of Caravaca de la Cruz.
