Caravaca City Council will discuss the next plenary of the Month October a motion proposed austerity measures to tackle the economic crisis that exists today.
The Municipal Socialist Group will present this motion in order to contribute from municipal budgets to the fiscal austerity policy which governs the present situation.
Carmen Porras pointed out that "in times of economic difficulty, we all need to buckle down and administrations have to be the first to lead by example, hence we have filed this motion."
The Socialists called for in his motion that all councilors and the mayor see their salaries reduced by 10% in the next financial year and to reach the commitment not to release any council in the remainder of the term.
It also requests the motion to freeze the salary of all positions of trust.
Another important item is written motion requesting the freezing of the municipal budget in terms of protocol expenses, compared to that budgeted in the previous year.
Finally, the city spokesman, reported that the motion also includes an agreement to create an information commission to study other possible measures to be taken before the current economic situation.
