The City of Caravaca, through its Department of Environment has launched the environmental volunteer program Book Project for the reuse of textbooks and school supplies in disadvantaged areas of speaking.
This is an initiative put forward from the regional government which have joined other municipalities in the region.
"Share the recycling culture" is the motto of this campaign that seeks to contribute to the progress of developing countries through the recycling of materials.
Thus, as explained by the mayor of the Environment, Antonia M ª Álvarez, "we bring our books and materials into disuse to those inner-Spanish speaking Americas, lacking financial resources for the training of future generations. "
Besides the solidarity component, Antonia Maria Alvarez has been cited as a specific target the reuse of materials generated in the town, giving an environmental value of the waste, converting them into reusable product.
There are two ways to work with the so-called Project Book: depositing material at the point of collection (located in schools, secondary schools, municipal nursery, Youth Center and Casa de la Cultura Emilio Sáez) or as part as of November 15 volunteer group that will select the material in the EcoPark.
