Caravaca City Council has chosen this year by installing a green festive lighting that will allow energy savings of more than 40% over last year.
The new lighting, LED technology, will also considerable cost savings and reduced CO2 emissions.
The Department of Celebration, in cooperation with the firm Elecfes has made a clear commitment to modernize the lighting and reduce pollution through a lighting system built with strings of LEDs.
In the Gran Via, the city's main artery through which run the majority of acts, has installed a gallery of frames made specifically for the occasion.
In the nearby streets are other models combined allegorical parades of Moors and Christians also designed for the Festival of Caravaca.
Also, at the entrance to the city have installed the labels "International Tourist Interest" and "Holy City", also produced with low material consumption.
"We want the emotions we feel the caravaqueños with our parties, should be backed up with the decor of our streets, paying special attention to energy saving and reducing CO2 emissions," said the head of Celebration, Gonzalo López- Auguy.
The tree lighting will take place next Sunday, April 26, at 20.00 hours after the proclamation of parties who will give the Minister of Economy and Finance, Inmaculada García, from the balcony of City Hall.
