The Museum's ethnic music Barranda Moratalla receive a drum, a signature of the crafts of the town and its history.
The sample chosen, which together with the complete Mula northwest section, is a 'Forty of String'.
The drum has been designed for 15 years at the Music School Drum Moratalla where many children have been initiated both in playing and in the technical and craft.
In addition, during all these years, this drum has participated in various exhibitions offered by the students of the School of Drums at the opening ceremony and the opening of Holy Week.
With the delivery of this instrument to the Museum is expected to contribute to improving the collection, and ensure the presence of Moratalla in it, through one of the most characteristic elements of folklore and traditions, if not the most: Tambor de Cordel.
Moreover, this action aims to strengthen the support and collaboration between the City Council held Moratalla and the Association of drums with the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda.
On Tuesday 16 June at 19.30 pm in the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda will take place on the drum ceremony that the City and the Association of Drums of Moratalla donated to the museum to become part of the permanent collection thereof.
Accompany this procession of Moratalla several drummers of all ages, dressed in traditional clothing that will make a traditional touch display moratallero.
The drum was given leave of his working life at the hands of one of the children who have learned to touch Drum School, which runs several rolls at the time of delivery.
