In order to provide a forum for debate and reflection on the challenges and prospects for the sector, Caravaca next week will host the III Regional Conference on Rural Tourism with the participation of professors, presidents of homeowners associations and local development agents.
The opening of the conference will be held on Monday, June 22, with the presence of the mayor, Domingo Aranda, the general director of Irrigation and Rural Development, Julio A.
Bernal, and Associate Director of the Centre of the UNED in Cartagena, Juan Antonio Cavas.
The sessions are intended as a forum for debate and reflection on the need for regulation and structuring of an activity that is having a great expansion in our country and, especially, in the Region of Murcia.
The organizers point out that, after the initial period of growth, is becoming more necessary to the regulation and structuring of a sector with major projections into the future but also with large uncertainties.
In this third edition of the talks will focus on the National Plan for Rural Tourism tourist expectations on the occasion of the Jubilee Year 2010, the new EAFRD programming in the tourism and the revitalization of rural tourism.
The various activities planned will take place in the convent of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers during the afternoons of 22, 23 and 24 June and will target entrepreneurs, technical, administration, students and the public generally interested in matter.
The conference is organized by the UNED Associated Center in Cartagena and the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Murcia with the assistance of the City of Caravaca and the Directorate General of Irrigation and Rural Development.
