The mayor, Domingo Aranda, the elder brother of the Confraternity of the Vera Cruz, Jose Luis Castillo, and Regional President Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, have today welcomed students from the Jubilee Volunteer course during this week being held in the Convent of the Carmelite Fathers of Caravaca.
The course, organized by the Universidad Católica San Antonio (UCAM) and the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer Juan Pablo II, aims to train people who wish to collaborate with the organization of the Holy Year 2010.
During the welcoming ceremony as the mayor and the brother have stressed the important role that volunteers play at the next Jubilee event as a key pillar in the work of care to pilgrims.
For his part, Angel Martinez recalled the strong commitment of the CAM to support the Holy Year 2010 to fund training courses and other activities related to the event.
In the various sessions of the course are being discussed general principles of volunteerism and notions related to the Holy Year and the history and traditions of Caravaca, among other issues.
Among those attending are members of Red Cross and Civil Protection and students Ucam.
