The mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, today introduced, along with German architects Antonio and Juan Carlos Cartagena and the CEO of Ferrovial in Murcia, Jorge Sanz, Multifunctional Center project for the Culture of Caravaca de la Cruz, a work valued in about 12 million euros, to be funded by the Autonomous Community of Murcia through its Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Municipality of Caravaca.
The mayor has described this work as a building twenty-first century as a reference for the future of Caravaca, while also thanked the support of regional government and all the technicians and experts who worked on the project selection process .
The center, conceived as an emblematic building as an architectural icon of the region, will occupy an area of about 9,000 square meters.
The building will be divided into three parts contained in prismatic parts, auditorium, library and archives and the reception area and exhibitions.
Outside predominantly cubic elements and transparency that are lighter volume of the building, reflecting the novelty of the architecture of recent years.
It has also designed a large glass cube as an aesthetic element, which in turn serves to counteract the weight of the stage and the other elements and dependencies inherent in any building of this auditorium and purpose.
"We looked for a new reading of a building, getting a suggestive space with different perspectives and multiple opportunities to host events," he pointed one of the architects leading the project.
For its part, the CEO of Ferrovial in Murcia has highlighted the ongoing engagement with companies in the Northwest Region to undertake this work.
In the lobby, which allows access to different parts of the center, located the box office, information service, concierge, cafe and landscaped courtyards.
This area is designed not only as a great host open space and public distribution, but also a large hall capable of offering itself a cultural offer to the public.
The protagonist of the space center, auditorium, modular seating capacity will exceed 1,000 people and is fully equipped, including dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, storerooms, toilets, offices and administration areas.
The library and the file will be divided into offices, work room, newspaper reading room, children's room and administration areas, among other agencies.
