Among the policies aimed at promoting local employment provided by the City of Caravaca, has launched a public employment program to perform tasks related to the organization of the Holy Year 2010.
The project has a budget of 180,000 euros, of which 172,500 euros will be funded by the Regional Employment Service and Training and the remainder by the Consistory.
For the operation of the facilities provided in the "information, surveillance and access control Holy Year 2010" has been hired for a period of 8 months to 11 people, information assistants and guards.
Currently workers are performing tasks in the Municipal Tourist Office, the Departments of Tourism and Culture, the National Open University (UNED) and monitoring of parks and urban gardens.
"The people hired are performing tasks in different city departments to become familiar with local government and once immersed in the Holy Year work will be related to the pilgrimage and tourist assistance," reported the mayor of Employment, Salvador Gomez.
This is the second public employment program, the City of Caravaca operated in recent months.
The first was last September when 10 people were hired to carry out the proposed enhancement of the archaeological site of La Cabezuela Barranda.
The overall budget for these two initiatives to promote employment of around 400,000 euros.
