Cajamurcia Foundation has opened today Tuesday through May, an information office in Caravaca de la Cruz in the exhibition hall of the Plaza Cardenal Belluga.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes, the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda Muñoz, the older brother of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz, Jose Luis Castillo Guerrero, and the director of the Foundation Cajamurcia, José Moreno Espinosa, and the Councillor for Tourism, Gonzalo López-Auguy.
The opening of this office is part of a series of initiatives launched by Cajamurcia Foundation, in collaboration with the city of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz de Caravaca, to promote and celebrate Holy Year 2010 and make known to Caravaca de la Cruz as a place of pilgrimage and tourist destination, as it did in 2003 when it held the previous Holy Year.
In the office, located in the historic city center, visitors can obtain information from the Holy Year through leaflets, information panels, photographs and audiovisual as well as ask for tourist information about Caravaca de la Cruz.
In the office was informed of Caravaca de la Cruz as a place of pilgrimage, the Holy and Vera Cruz, the cultural and natural heritage of the city, the cuisine and the May Festival.
The office will be open Tuesday through Saturday mornings (10 to 14 hours) and late (17 to 19 hours) and Sunday mornings only.
Closed Mondays.
