Manuel Sánchez Contreras arrived at Caravaca CF, for five seasons, particularly in the 2005/2006 season when the team was in economic crisis, beset by complaints from players about the descent into preferred and what was worse about missing on the defaults.

I could hardly celebrate, actually were some very difficult days where I did not understand and I do not understand what was happening, because I felt that all the work, effort and sacrifice both financially and physically, held for four years had served for nothing except to make me feel bad as a person and as an idiot who have been taking the hair on their backs.
Did you ever think that despite being in third division everything could be ruined, because of the problems we all know?
Yes, I thought that the team could not go out and compete in the Second Division B for a number of problems that I will not enumerate, and they preferred that the team would have been better not to upgrade.

The decision to continue was a matter of pride, not to throw away all the effort and sacrifice made during previous seasons, it seemed unfortunate to have come this far, and abandon the project, leaving by the back door as if I was a criminal, when in fact I am very proud of the goal achieved and have given the fans and the city of Caravaca a historic achievement sought by many caravaqueños.
