The Employment Commission of the Northwest District held a meeting yesterday in the city of Caravaca de la Cruz in the presence of Director General of Employment and Training Service, Ginés Martínez, and representatives from the councils of the five municipalities, unions and business .
During the meeting, the third to keep the committee since it was created, reviewed the socio-economic study of the municipalities that is undertaking a consultancy and implementation status of public employment programs.
Is currently conducting a socioeconomic study to ascertain the situation of employment and development opportunities in the various municipalities in the Northwest Region.
The consulting firm Price Waterhouse has been analyzing the statistical data related to unemployment, recruitment and boosting enterprise and is gathering information and views through interviews with company representatives and local community groups.
It is anticipated that this study, which aims to identify new development opportunities in the current context of economic crisis, is finished next June.
During the meeting also introduced the Local Development Gateway Region of Murcia, a tool that centralizes the legislation calls for subsidies and other development instruments.
Another point discussed was the status of local public employment programs that are underway and expected new initiatives in this area for the coming months.
In this sense Councilman Job, Salvador Gomez, recalled that the City of Caravaca is currently running two programs that have allowed the hiring of 22 people unemployed.
"Right now is running a jobs program and musealization archaeological work in the area of La Cabezuela and other tasks related to monitoring and reporting during the Holy Year 2010," recalled Salvador Gomez, who has reported that the City has submitted projects to the new calls for employment workshops.
