The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, and general director of Unipublic, Javier Guillén, today signed a collaboration agreement to stage the 75 edition of the Tour of Spain has as output the town of Caravaca coinciding with the Holy Year 2010.
The Tour will depart from Caravaca on 2 September and will travel 144 kilometers.
The main attraction will stage with the rise of the famous Cresta del Gallo, just over 10 kilometers from the finish.
Aranda and Guillen have expressed their desire to repeat the success of last year, when thousands of people took the form of Granda Avenue to witness the arrival of cyclists and hundreds of media echoed the competition.
"The time in Caravaca was one of the most excitement generated with a television audience exceeded the 1,200,000 viewers," remarked the general director of Unipublic.
This year Unipublic has scheduled a special Tour Spain to commemorate the 75 anniversary of the birth of one of the most popular sports and participatory held in Spain.
Among the competition venues, which will run from August 28 to September 19 have been chosen this year emblematic cities live special events, such as Caravaca de la Cruz, with the Holy Year 2010, and Orihuela with the centenary of the birth of Miguel Hernández.
