Most of women's associations formed in the town of Caravaca de la Cruz has received a grant from the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia to carry out projects related to the promotion of equal opportunities between men and women.
The total amount of aid amounting to 14,300 euros.
From the Agency for Equal Opportunities of the City of Caravaca have reported that, under these grants and this year 2010, will organize various activities related to healthy lifestyles, social skills and speech.
In particular, groups that have received funding are: Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users "Santa Elena", Association of Widows of the Holy Cross, Country Women Association of Archivel, Association of Women's Equality Barranda Rural Areas, Rural Women Association Navares, Association of Rural Women Singla, Association of Rural Women in The Almudema, Association of Rural Women in The Meadows and Country Women's Association of the Incarnation.
The mayor of Women in the City of Caravaca, Carmen Ruiz, said that since the council that directed the association has been promoted in order to enhance the training, thus furthering equality of opportunity between men and women.
Currently, the municipality has a total of 10 associations based in the town and villages.
